This week two ladies have come forward volunteering their jobs as consultants to give party proceeds to this little baby during Angel Tree season. I will keep track of peoples spending in the parties and make sure you receive a Reece’s Rainbow ornament in his honor. At the Harr house we do not celebrate Christmas, but that doesn’t stop up from collecting ornaments. (I kept mine up all year long)
The women who are laying out what they would otherwise take home for their own adoptions are Angela Johnson Campbell, who along with her husband, are adopting their fourth daughter from China. She is a consultant for Usborne Books and Thirty-One & Trades of Hope.
Kelly Apisa sells Scentsy and has offered to set up an on-line fundraiser, profits that would otherwise go to her directly to Mikey. Of course I accepted that offer!! Kelly’s family is not adopting, but they do have 5 kids. Only a percent of sales ever reach her as a consultant, so doing this is a really big deal–it’s giving away her product to someone else.
Traditionally parties are attended, snacks shared…remember Tupperware parties at your gramma’s house growing up? This is like that. When the orders are made they are shipped to the host, she distributes them herself to the friends and neighbors who participated and proudly claims her hostess prize. No hostess prize, and also no need to deliver your product door to door (not that I’d mind). Because you’re spread out all over, the shipments will go directly to your door.
So it’s Usborne, Thirty-One, Trades of Hope and Scentsy. We can arrange for shipments to be delivered by Christmas if you put in your order soon. Angela’s parties are already online through More for Mikey. No ordering until after Nov. 1!
Thank you to these wonderful women and to you, in advance, for shopping proceeds to baby Mikey. Everything goes directly into the fund that will benefit his future family in the adoption process. From beginning to end an adoption from his country is short of one year in duration which leaves his prospective mom and dad little time for raising funds themselves.
Please please spread the word. Visit More for Mikey on Facebook and his profile on Reece’s Rainbow to donate and help Mikey reach his $1000.
Angel Tree in it’s seventh year!
With only a matter of days before the celebration and biggest fundraiser of the year for orphans through Reece’s Rainbow begins there are still advocates needed for many children across Eastern Europe and beyond. I hope to collect some more fundraisers in the next couple of days before Angel Tree 2013 commences, so do be watching “More for Mikey” for any updates, and of course to track the progress of his growing adoption fund.
Thank you, and enjoy the season!
